Less Is Better! Plan Accordingly

We all know the trials & tribulations of the economy but we still have to have a social life right? People are still getting married right? Budgeting is always a number one factor. Less is better when you plan the right way! Are you getting married and have decided you don't want to invite the whole town? Do you want cupcakes instead of a 3 layer cake? Do you want finger food instead of a sit down dinner.  We all know extravagant weddings, parties, and events are nice but sometimes less is better.  Less doesn't mean cheap. The right budget, decor, venue, and food can still bring out a great wedding, event or party! Below are food choices for a great buffet style wedding, event or party.

Jerk Chicken

Garlic String Beans

Dill Dip

Cocktail Shrimp

Pasta Salad

Smoke Salmon

Less Decor at a reasonable price also brings out an occasion, remember less is better!

Don't Give Up!

With many businesses closing small and big, the fight to keep a business open is very challenging in 2018! The big businesses are shutting down such as Sam's Club and Toys R US, so imagine what the small business owners are going through! I write this blog today to the small business owners to say don't give up! I know as you are reading this you are saying "easier said than done" but i'm a living witness that you have to keep going! Selections Entertainment is in year 9 and there are many days I want to give up but I say to myself "look how far you have came, what you have accomplished and how you have helped others. Take your business day by day, challenge yourself, ask yourself what you can do different, and how can you meet  and network with different people to build working relationships and build clientele. Also work on supporting other businesses!. The struggle is real but pray, have faith, and believe, you will get through the rough patches. I don...

Budget Wisely!

Many brides are overwhelmed when they are planning a wedding. Many couples have estimated budgets for their special day but many don't plan a realistic budget. The best way to establish a realistic budget is to have a budget in each category. Hire a professional wedding planner to help you with your budget. A planner will let a couple know what is the average cost of a vendor in each category. People are very surprise how much a caterer, florist, or photographer cost in their area. The guessing game of expenses will cause a couple to overspend and become overwhelmed. A planner can also help you with saving money on do's and don't's. Their professional vendor list will help you plan your special day! Happy Planning!

Covid Times!

Where do I start with the wedding and event industry pertaining to covid! It's like a slow spiral going down! If  you are a business owner or in this industry, you can relate!Back in January I started hearing all this talk about covid in other countries and many people getting sick. I didn't think anything of it because they were in foreign countries and i thought"The U.S. should be fine.  That virus is not coming over here!" Then in February the first case came to NY. I still thought the virus would be under control. Then mid to late February many people started passing away and several celebrities also made the news on contracting the virus! Next thing I know we are in phase one of a mandatory shut down! You know what that meant for the event and wedding industry! CANCELLATIONS & POSTPONEMENTS! During this time i had few rental orders because it was the end of the winter going into spring but this is the time that things pick up because people are ordering renta...
