We all know 2020 is very challenging! There are many cancellations when it comes to weddings, birthday parties, reunions,  bridal showers, baby showers and many more special occasions. People are getting very creative to avoid the cancellations! Brides, and moms to be still need that great experience! The big trends for special occasions are:

  • Virtual Bridal/Baby Showers: Stay in the comfort of your own home or rent a small venue to celebrate your special occasion. Many people are also using parks or back yards with tents and stations to  be creative for better spacing and distance due to covid. Have your bridal party or close friends and family send out a virtual invite for date, time and link for the occasion. They can set up food and decorate your background! You save money with a smaller head count.. Let your guest know ahead of time your signature drink and food so they can join you online.  Make sure on your invitation, add your registry, paypal link and cash app link. There is no excuse for gifts during this pandemic!  Get creative with virtual games that everyone can play and choose great gift that can easily be mailed.

  • Drive-By's: Many people are also having drive-by's for their wedding, engagements, bridals showers, graduations and baby showers. Nice decorative tents and cars are usually set up and people drive by to say hello, congratulate, send well wishes, or deliver a gift. This is a great way to keep it simple and keep the budget down without canceling your special occasion. Many people also send out invitations so friends and family can view the drive by online and virtually send their well wishes and congratulations!

Covid Times!

Where do I start with the wedding and event industry pertaining to covid! It's like a slow spiral going down! If  you are a business owner or in this industry, you can relate!Back in January I started hearing all this talk about covid in other countries and many people getting sick. I didn't think anything of it because they were in foreign countries and i thought"The U.S. should be fine.  That virus is not coming over here!" Then in February the first case came to NY. Don't Give Up!

With many businesses closing small and big, the fight to keep a business open is very challenging in 2018! The big businesses are shutting down such as Sam's Club and Toys R US, so imagine what the small business owners are going through! I write this blog today to the small business owners to say don't give up! I know as you are reading this you are saying "easier said than done" but i'm a living witness that you have to keep going!
